This is the first book in the four-volume series which focuses on the fundamental rhythms, articulations and phrasing commonly used by jazz groups. Rhythmic patterns are established and developed melodically in the exercises. This material is then utilised in the subsequent jazz tunes. Articulation is fully specified. Excellent material for individual students or teachers.

Accompanying CD contains Eb (alto sax), Bb (tenor sax) and C versions (guitar) of the 10 Jazz Tunes with stereo separation and rhythm section for you to either playalong with or replace the instrumentalist.
